The Year is Flying

The year is almost over, and it's been a good one. Lots of lows, lots of highs...just enough of everything to make life interesting.

I'm thankful for everyone and everything in my life...it's what has made me who I am, and I'm good with that. :)

Looking forward to another great week ahead...getting busier...I'm good with that, too!

Have a great week!

Another Cleaning Day

I have another day in which I could be cleaning. It will be dreary outside, and I'd be better off concentrating on the inside.

Amd I shall.

Work Is Good

Work is great, but it's even better when you get to work with REALLY talented people.

Word.

The Best Things

Sometimes the best things are the hardest things.

Take that any way you like.

:)

Have a great week!

Let Hawk Tawk Begin!

Today is the first episode of Season 4 of Hawk Talk with Bill Self, which my son Christopher and I shoot for television at the Salty Iguana in Lawrence, KS. It's a radio show, but it's produced in a restaurant with lots of rooms...so we shoot it with three cameras, send it to all the TVs in the restaurant, and also record it for playback in the other Salty Iguanas in Olathe, KS and Prairie Village, KS. The Salty in Independence, Missouri, for some reason doesn't care about Kansas basketball. Go figure!

It's a great way to keep in touch with my son as he continues his journey to a degree at KU. It's also a great way to keep up my chops in live TV, which is one of my major loves.

Should be a great 18 shows!

Eighty Shots, Three Days

It's amazing what you can accomplish when you have an amazing crew of people to work with...Mark, Troy, Roycee, Mel, Glenn, Sara, Amy, Cari, and everybody...when you approach an impossible shot sheet, it's nice to know you've got a lot of people working on it.

I'm exhausted, and there's still more to shoot on Friday, then on December 1st. It's a huge project, and I'm glad for the work.

It's a good kind of tired.

Another great week, part deux

So I know you're probably getting tired of all my positive posts. This week was rough and busy, but still a great week. I love my clients, and I like going the extra mile when they end up really appreciating what I've done for them.

So, another challenging week ahead...shooting a spot and a 15-minute infomercial for my South Africa clients...unfortunately I'm just directing and not appearing on-camera, so it'll be a bit more challenging. But I get to work with my outstanding crew, so it'll be all good.

Have a great week your own self!

Another great week

Well, New Jersey was great, video was well-received.

Now on to this week. Lots of work, which means it's a good week.

And by the way...shouldn't you be working instead of reading this?

Off To New Jersey

Off to New Jersey, on what some say is an impossible mission: shoot an amusing video in less than 36 hours, and be back home again.

I say it can be done.

We'll see. :)

The Leaves Are My Bitch

Raking leaves today. Funny how you love the trees, the sound the wind makes as it's rustling through the branches, how the leaves shimmer in the spring and summer sun.

You think of NONE of that when you're raking. Except who you could have hired to do it for you.

Oh, and the grass is green underneath...what's up with that?

It's a good kind of tired

Nearly eight hours in the chair yesterday, nearly 10 hours today...such is the life of an editor.

I must say, I don't miss doing these kinds of shifts every day...it's mentally tiring and exhausting. Oh, and my knees hurt.

But it's a good kind of tired...I have helped people see and hear about valuable coin proofs, and eDiets.com. What could be better?

Oh yeah...a shoot in New Jersey on Tuesday.

Wish me luck!

Thursday Editing

After a 33 shot, 11-hour shoot day yesterday, I'm ready to sit for awhile, even if it's editing. I don't enjoy editing as much as I used to, but it's a nice change of pace and gets me out of the house.

I did find a cool slate app for the iPhone yesterday, even though I don't have an iPhone. It's iSlate, and it's great, especially if you're doing lots of product shots or working in close quarters. And it's $2.99!

I knew and once worked with the late Mike Denecke, who invented the SmartSlate, and I'd like to think he would think this was cool. :)

Saturday Cleaning

Today started out a bit gloomy, both weather and mood-wise. But I cleaned all 11 of my air cleaners (eight Ionic Breeze and three HEPA), and somehow that made me feel better.

Then I cleaned the kitchen sink. With Soft Scrub.

Now I can take on the day.

I'm not obsessive about cleaning, I just didn't want to do other things. So cleaning seemed like a good second choice.

Friday

It's Friday! Wish I were busier...perhaps some marketing today.

Or a nap.

Always a toss-up.

Except that I think the HyVee sesame chicken I had may have had some msg zzzzzzzzzzzz.....

Paul is Old

Yikes. Paul McCartney is 67.

That's almost 10 in Courtney Love years.

Please welcome me to the 90s

Okay, so everyone has a blog. Blog, blog, blog. So I've decided I should have a blog.

Blog, blog, blog.

Will I have anything interesting to say? Will I be updating every day? Is there any reason you're reading this right now?

No, no, and no.

But thanks for participating, anyway.
